Parliament Prize 2026
Congratulations to Year 11 student Anna Mathew, who has been awarded 1st Prize in the Years 10–12 category of the 2026 Parliament Prize.
Anna impressed the judges with her 90-second speech, ‘Sign of the Times: Why Auslan Belongs in Every Classroom’, exploring the importance of Auslan education and its place in classrooms across Australia.
Her thoughtful and engaging speech addressed an issue of significance to students and the wider community, showcasing her confidence, advocacy and public speaking skills.

The Future Founders of Wyndham Pitching Competition
🏆✨ A big congratulations to Year 11 student Haasini Jayaraman!
Haasini has taken out 1st Place in the 15–18 age group at the Future Founders of Wyndham Pitching Competition, presented by the Tarneit Business Association.
As part of her achievement, Haasini has also been selected to visit Parliament on 8 September, where she’ll have the opportunity to meet with councillors and MPs and discuss her pitch.
We’re incredibly proud of Haasini and can’t wait to see where this opportunity takes her!
🏆 Celebrating Excellence at the Trung Luu Awards 2026
On Friday 11 September, we were delighted to welcome Mr Trung Luu to SCHS for the 2026 Trung Luu Awards morning tea, celebrating the academic achievements, leadership and contributions of our students.
Congratulations to our Academic Excellence Award recipients:
- Year 11 – Simran Singh, who achieved the highest average score across all Year 11 subjects with an outstanding 92.3% average.
- Year 12 – Hard Patel, who achieved the highest average score across all Year 12 subjects with an impressive 90.7% average.
We also congratulate our Inspiration Award recipients:
Year 11 – Archana Karthik
Archana has demonstrated consistent leadership throughout her time at SCHS, most recently through her exceptional leadership of Apollo House in the House Chorals competition. Her dedication to the arts and extracurricular activities continues to inspire others to embrace the importance of being well-rounded individuals.
Year 12 – Vanalika Puri
Vanalika has made an enduring contribution to our school through her many leadership roles. As a whole-school extracurricular captain, she has helped lead our debating and public speaking program, while also supporting her House dance team and mentoring younger students. Her passion, commitment and generosity have made a lasting impact on the SCHS community.
