House Leadership Reports

Apollo

HELLOOOOO APOLLO!!!

Term 3 is finally over! First off, pat yourselves on the back, you’ve all worked very hard this term and definitely deserve the upcoming break! This term has been jam packed full of events, special weeks and activities that have made the months fly by and we’re so proud to have watched you all grow as you did them.

This term saw a whole heap of events for the House, like Alumni Week and Clean Up Cory, which we gave it our very all in, but some special ones that come to mind were Senior House Debating which, after many heated debates and close decisions, WE TOOK FIRST PLACE! We’d just like to give a big thank you to our excellent team of hardworking debaters who gave it their all and got us the win! The other big event that we had success in was House Drama, taking home the third place spot in the competition overall! Aside from the results however, we could see just how much time, effort, practice and training you all put into the event to make it run so smoothly and look amazing too, so we’d like to thank everyone involved in House Drama who spent their recesses, lunchtimes and afterschools working hard on the event, especially to our experienced Year 12’s who spent their time on the competition.

Speaking of Year 12’s, Term 3’s end signals the final full term of our high school lives. There’ll only be a few weeks next term until our final presentation night, mock up day and celebration day where we’ll say goodbye to scheduled high school classes for good! Take this as a wake up call to take a moment, realise how much time we have left, see the value in every moment and make sure you wring every last drop out of every moment, because that countdown is ticking down and with it, exams are ever looming. There’s only one more push left before the end, so really give it your all, give it everything you got, and then give it some more, because we know these efforts will be rewarded and pay off in the end.

This end of term newsletter also means it’s the end of our term (such witty wordplay) as your captains, with this being our last ever newsletter! There’s a huge number of things that we’d like to say, the first of which being a huge thank you to our Apollo Leadership Team, each and every one of you have worked so hard for our house and put in untold amounts of hours to see it through, it’s thanks to you all that no event felt like too much of a burden and no trial was too much to overcome.

The other thing we’d like to say is an absolutely humongous thank you to you, the house. You all put so much into our house to make it the supportive community that it is, lifting each other up and making all of your many talents shine in the spotlight, you embraced each others interests and gifts and showed passion for this house that we’ve never seen before. Every single lane in the pools or on the athletics track, every single spot on the stage, whether that was singing, dancing or acting, every place on the courts and every other role in house events were always eagerly filled and volunteered for by you all and for that we couldn’t be more grateful and more proud. It’s thanks to you all that our Apollo community had become the closest and greatest it’s ever been and thanks to you all that our house has become a home.

And with that, our time as your leaders has wrapped up, thank you all for making our house so amazing and for making it one we are proud to say we were captains of.

Signing off for the last time,

Your 2026 Apollo House Captains,

Rhys and Asliyah

Another highlight of this term was Alumni Week! Alumni Week gives current Blackwoodians the chance to meet past Blackwoodians, hear about their experiences and see where their Blackwood journey has taken them. Many Blackwood students got involved in activities alongside our alumni, creating great memories and bringing generations of Blackwoodians together. We wrapped up the week with a well-earned second place overall! 🥈💙⚔️. We were also lucky to place SECOND in Clean up Cory! Thank you to all the students who participated to make our school a cleaner and better place, while also having fun! 💙⚔️

As we say farewell to our Year 12s, these next few weeks are soooooooo important, but there are only roughly 60 more days to go! We’ve all worked INCREDIBLY hard this year, and no matter what scores you achieve, you should be proud of how far you’ve come. Only you know the effort, late nights and challenges you’ve pushed through to get here, so keep going, keep believing in yourself, and finish the year knowing you gave it your all. 💓🥰🤗

One final reminder! HOUSE POINTS!!! Blackwood…… guys….. We are on THE FINAL STRETCH!!! We are so close to the end of the House Cup, and I know we can do it!! Give the next few events your 200%!!!! 🤗

Also, keep an eye out for our brand new mural, coming to life in Term 4!

Kororoit

HEY KOROROIT!Congratulations! We’ve made it through term 3 intact… With this term’s assessments done and the year 12’s practice exams over and done with, let’s recount all the fun we had in the past term!

Our Kororoit area had a beautiful glow up with the addition of our MURAL!! This vibrant feature wall embodies everything we represent, our passion, our fire and our chaos. Shout out to the incredible artist Carla McRae, who worked closely with our amazing design team (Acho, Anshika, Janelle, Lochi, Louise, Siyu, Vikas) to make our vision come true. Take the time to stand in front of the wall and appreciate all it’s glory (and see if you can spot the egg!).

We obviously can’t forget about our annual spicy ramen challenge! Thanks to our volunteers for setting up this event, and for all the contestants who made this event even more special. Our winner Raymond finished the entire bowl with a time of 40 seconds, taking home the prize of a pack of Buldak Original Spicy Ramen. We hope everyone watching had lots of fun, and who knows, maybe you’ll be taking home the win next year.

Our senior house debating competition was a close one, with our team coming in second place! Great job to our wonderful debaters for all your hard work, your efforts do not go unnoticed. House drama was a nail biting event, with so many incredible performances and weeks of constant rehearsals, Kororoit came in 4th place. Despite this, it was a real treat to watch our actresses and actors on stage and we’re so proud of each and everyone of you who contributed.

As the house cup comes to the pointy end, let’s all put in our very best efforts! There are still points up for grabs, with the community project coming up and the values cards left to count, make sure to take part in everything you can.

For our year 12s, we know you’ll be studying hard on the holidays but make sure to take a chance for a proper rest too. We hope you all have a fun holiday, and we’ll see you next term!

Live, laugh, love,

Louise and Lochi

HEYYY YOOOUUU ROTHWELL!!!

And just like that, we’ve reached the end of another term! It’s been a jam-packed and sensational few weeks for Rothwell, with some amazing achievements across the House. As assessments and practice exams wrap up, let’s take a moment to look back at all we’ve accomplished!

We’ve had some HUGE results recently, starting with HOUSE DRAMA!! A massive congratulations to all our Rothwellians who took part and helped make the performance such a success! The effort, creativity and time that went into the production was incredible, and it was so good to see so many Rothwell students getting involved. We also had an amazing ALUMNI WEEK, with Rothwell once again showing up and taking first place, getting involved across all the different activities. And of course, we can’t forget CLEAN UP CORY!! Thank you to everyone who gave up their time to clean up our school community and represent Rothwell!!
