Grade 6 News

Our Grade 6 students are looking forward to an exciting and meaningful excursion to the Holocaust Museum and Jewish Museum on Thursday, 17 September. 

Students will depart St Bernard’s at 6:00 am and are expected to return to school at approximately 6:00 pm. This valuable learning experience will deepen students' understanding of history, human rights, compassion, and the importance of standing up against prejudice and discrimination.

Students are reminded to wear their school sports uniform, including their Grade 6 shirt, and bring a packed lunch, snacks, water bottle, and any other items outlined in the excursion information.

In the classroom, we are continuing our study of the novel Can You See Me?. Through Tally's story, students are developing a greater understanding of autism, inclusion, empathy, and the importance of appreciating individual differences. Class discussions have encouraged students to reflect on character traits, relationships, and the challenges and strengths that make each person unique.

In Mathematics, we have begun our unit on multiplying decimals. Students are building their understanding of place value and multiplying decimals by 10's and 100's.

We look forward to another engaging week of learning, and we wish all our Grade 6 families a safe, happy and restful break.
