Grade 5 News

The end of Term 3 is here! 

It is hard to believe how quickly this term has gone. 

There have been many highlights throughout the term. The students have thoroughly enjoyed reading both of our novels, Convict Boy and The Grandest Bookshop in the World. We have had some rich discussions about which book was better. Be sure to ask your child which one they preferred and why!

This week, we are spending time improving, editing, and publishing the narratives students have been working on over the past few weeks. We have been impressed by their use of figurative language and their ability to engage the reader through creative and thoughtful writing. 

Of course, the next exciting event for Grade 5 is... CAMP! 

We are all eagerly looking forward to departing for Harrietville on the first Wednesday of Term 4. We would like to remind parents that a packing list is available on PAM. We also strongly encourage students to practise packing their sleeping bags before camp. 

As the departure date approaches, we will continue to monitor the weather closely and have discussions in class to help students prepare for the camp experience.

We wish all of our Grade 5 families a safe, relaxing, and sunny school holiday break, and we look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for an exciting Term 4!
