Student Wellbeing

Happy last week of Term 3!
Playground Helpers Initiative | Wednesday 16th September
A huge congratulations to our Playground Helpers, who have taken on their new leadership role with enthusiasm and care. We are so proud of the way they are helping to create a safe, welcoming and positive playground for everyone. We are looking forward to our whole-day Playground Helper training on Wednesday, where students will further develop their skills and learn how to support others in the playground.
🚲 BikeTober is Coming Next Term | All October!
Next term, we are excited to take part in BIkeTober! We will be working alongside Merri-bek City Council to keep track of how many students are choosing to ride or walk to school. BIkeTober is a great opportunity to get active, connect with our community and promote healthy habits. We encourage everyone to get involved and be as active as possible!
💛 GEM Leaders Assembly | Week 9 Term 3
A big well done to our GEM Leaders for the wonderful way they have introduced and supported our GEM initiatives around the school. Their leadership has helped spread the values of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness throughout our school community.
Our GEM Leaders have introduced some fantastic initiatives, including:
- 📣 GEM Shout-Out Box – a place to recognise students who are demonstrating our GEM qualities and celebrating their positive actions.
- 💬 Kindness Wall – our GEM Leaders have created positive affirmations celebrating the different GEM qualities and encouraging everyone to spread kindness.
- 🛝 Playground Helper Initiative – supporting students to make our playground a safe, inclusive and positive place for everyone.
We are incredibly proud of the leadership, kindness and creativity shown by our GEM Leaders. Thank you for helping make our school community a more positive place! 💛
💛 R U OK? Day | Connecting as Staff
This week, our staff came together to celebrate R U OK? Day and the importance of checking in with one another. It was a wonderful opportunity to pause, connect and remind ourselves that a simple “Are you okay?” can make a meaningful difference. Taking the time to connect with colleagues and look out for one another is an important part of building a strong wellbeing culture at St Fidelis. 💛
Thank you and have a wonderful break!
