Foundation News

It has been another busy and exciting week in Foundation!

We had so much fun celebrating Pyjama Day! It was lovely to spend the day feeling cosy and warm in our favourite pyjamas while learning about staying safe online day and night. We enjoyed a special learning activity with our Grade 2 buddies, where we explored how to be kind, be secure, be safe and be curious online. We worked together with our Grade 2 friends to document our learning and share our ideas about how we can make safe and positive choices when using technology.

In Mathematics, we continued our exploration of measurement. We love getting hands-on with our learning, so we used informal units such as teddies, counters and Unifix blocks to measure the length, mass and capacity of different objects. It was lots of fun exploring these new concepts and discovering how we could compare and measure objects in different ways.

We hope all Foundation students and their families have a very restful and safe break and we look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday 5th October for the final term of Foundation. Please remember to bring hats back to school and that there will be a two week change over to Summer uniform, as we know Melbourne weather can be unpredictable at the best of times!

We would love your continued support over the two week break with number formation, particularly as we are noticing some number reversals, as well as practising our tricky words to build reading fluency and confidence with writing.

Dates to remember:

  • Friday 18th Footy Colours Day - 1pm finish for end of Term
