Year 7 Camp
Students Embrace Adventure at Rubicon
Our Year 7 students enjoyed an unforgettable outdoor education experience at Rubicon Outdoor School, where they challenged themselves, built new friendships, and developed resilience through a range of exciting activities.
Across both camp groups, students immersed themselves in mountain biking, bush hiking, climbing, canoeing and white-water rafting, while also tackling unique challenges such as cave exploration, mountain night walks, and navigating the rapids of the Goulburn River. Along the way, they overcame obstacles including river snags, small waterfalls, leeches, and steep trails, all while supporting and encouraging one another.
The camps provided countless memorable moments, from spotting a wild platypus and swimming in the river to witnessing fresh snowfall for the very first time. Through every activity, students demonstrated courage, teamwork, perseverance, and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones.
Students returned with a strong sense of achievement, having built confidence, strengthened relationships, and developed skills that will serve them well both in and out of the classroom.
A big thank you to the dedicated Wangaratta High School staff who supported our students throughout their Rubicon adventure and helped make the experience such a success.
