Year 7 Boys Football

Twenty-three Year 7 boys proudly pulled on the Wangaratta High School football jumper for the first time at the School Sport Victoria Upper Hume Carnival held at Barr Reserve.

Jake Day was awarded the Steve Johnson Medal as best player across the team's four matches, producing an outstanding carnival highlighted by two excellent goals. Strong performances also came from Jordan Woodrow, Jobe Dummett, and Jack Spring, while Rydah Donovan and Charlie Cook were also named among the team's best players.

Best Players: Jake Day, Jordan Woodrow, Jobe Dummett, Jack Spring, Rydah Donovan, Charlie Cook Goal Kickers: Jake Day 2, Jobe Dummett 1, Jack Spring 1

A special piece of Wangaratta High School football history was also on display, with co-captains Xavier Hutton and Charlie Cook following in the footsteps of family members who represented the school in State Championship-winning teams.

Thank you to our players, runners, umpires, organisers, opponents, and Kev McGennan for helping make the day such a positive sporting experience.
