Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
It is hard to believe we are already approaching the end of October! Term 4 is well underway, and there is a wonderful sense of energy across the school as our students continue their learning and we prepare for the many celebrations and activities that mark the end of the year.
A Strong Finish to the Year
While Term 4 brings plenty of excitement, our focus remains firmly on teaching and learning. Our teachers continue to provide engaging, structured learning opportunities, and we encourage all students to maintain their positive learning habits, attend school regularly and make the most of every day.
Over the coming weeks, students will begin their end-of-year assessments, providing teachers with valuable information about their learning progress and achievements. This will support the preparation of Semester 2 reports, with our scheduled Report Writing Day on Friday 27 November, when students are not required at school.
This is also an important time for students to reflect on how far they have come this year and recognise the progress they have made, both academically and personally. Growth comes in many forms, and every achievement, big or small, deserves to be celebrated.
Looking Ahead to 2027
I am pleased to share that I will be continuing in the role of Acting Principal for Semester 1, 2027. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to continue leading Tarneit Rise Primary School and to work alongside our dedicated staff, wonderful students, and supportive families.
I look forward to building on the work already underway and ensuring we continue to provide a positive, inclusive and high-quality learning environment for every student.
Behind the scenes, planning for the 2027 school year is progressing well. Our leadership team is working through class structures, staffing arrangements and transition activities to ensure our students are well supported as they move into their next year level.
Class placements are always approached with great care and consideration. Our priority is to create balanced learning environments that support students academically, socially and emotionally.
Our School Values in Action
Our school values of Kindness, Responsibility, Growth and Respect continue to guide everything we do at Tarneit Rise Primary School.
As the year becomes busier, it is particularly important that we continue to demonstrate these values through the way we speak to one another, support our peers and approach challenges. I encourage families to continue these conversations at home, recognising the small everyday actions that make our school such a positive place to learn.
Looking Ahead
There is much to look forward to over the coming weeks, with excursions, incursions, sporting activities, transition opportunities and end-of-year celebrations on the horizon.
Thank you to our families for your continued support and partnership. Working together makes an enormous difference to the learning, wellbeing and success of our students.
I look forward to a positive and rewarding remainder of Term 4.
Melbourne Cup Public Holiday
A reminder that Tuesday 3 November is the Melbourne Cup public holiday, and the school will be closed. We look forward to welcoming students back on Wednesday 4 November.
Warm regards,
Emma Gleeson
Acting Principal
