Foundation

Week 6
It has been a super busy couple of weeks in Foundation. We all loved getting on the bus each day and going to Aquanation to learn how to swim. The Foundation students did a fantastic job of independently getting changed and looking after their belongings. There were lots of very happy but tired students at the end of last week!
Literacy
We have continued our work on digraphs and double letters after a short vowel sound over the last couple of weeks. The Foundations have enjoyed segmenting and blending words, manipulating words on their phonics mats and practising our letter formation on dotted thirds. We have been learning how to write sentences with a subject, verb and adjective. We have continued our text study lessons, where we have been learning about communities around us and places in Australia and Melbourne that we have visited. There has been lots of very excited "I've been there!" when we read about places like Phillip Island and the MCG.
Numeracy
We have been focusing on ordinal numbers and measurement in Maths. There has been lots of hands-on learning opportunities and discussions on the best way to measure objects, including ourselves, and how to order them according to their length. Students have been practising lots of different maths skills in our daily reviews each week.
