Life is a Cabaret

“Life is a Cabaret” was a love letter to all things musical theatre, penned by the Arts Captains Executive: Nora Dandurand, Annie Sadler, Jay Castaldo, Sammy Webber & Bea Flugge. Guided by our Performing Arts teachers, this student run production aimed to give students space to explore the wonders of theatre. It also served to captivate and the audience. We hope those who attended enjoyed our inaugural student led initiative – Life is a Cabaret.
Producer’s Notes
First of all, thank you to those who attended our original production “Life Is a Cabaret” and supporting the Performing Arts here at MGC!
Life Is a Cabaret was a labour of love, a new student-led initiative built on our fundamental adoration of musical theatre and the relationships that come from being part of a show. It wasn’t a whole school musical (stay tuned for 2026!) but a love letter to how much we love musicals and a chance to pay homage to shows we love but wouldn’t otherwise be able to do at a high school - looking at you, Chicago.
The performing arts community I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of and seeing develop over my past 6 years at MGC continued through Life Is a Cabaret. It gave us the opportunity to welcome the Year 7s to MGC’s musical family and celebrated the class of 2025 and their final MGC show.
I, on behalf of the entire company, am endlessly grateful to Ms Corry and Ms Mummé, as well as the Performing Arts staff, for helping us make this show happen, and for trusting me enough to let me run this whole thing! Your love for your students and your jobs is what keeps this school alive.
I hope those who attended enjoyed the show and continue to support next year’s whole
musical production, and many more to follow.
