Model United Nations

A few weeks ago, MGC had the opportunity to host other girls’ schools from around Melbourne for a Model United Nations conference. The topic of the day was “Pathways to Peace: Addressing War, Conflict, and International Security.”
Students stepped into the shoes of UN delegates, representing different member states and working together to debate global issues posed by war and conflict. Through speeches, negotiations, and drafting resolutions, delegates explored how countries can cooperate to prevent war, protect human rights, and strengthen international security. It also highlighted the importance of compromise in finding peaceful solutions to complex international challenges.
Overall, the day was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their public speaking and debating skills, deepen their understanding of world affairs, and experience the challenges of global decision-making.
Thank you to the MGC Parents’ Association for their support in making this school wide opportunity to foster global citizens possible.
