Diversity

Diversity Club is running smoothly as we work to organise Wear it Purple day for this Friday 29 August! We are excited to see everyone wearing their favourite purple accessories to support young LGBTQIA+ people by creating a safe and accepting space.

By celebrating this day we not only seek to make the world diverse but also show tolerance and acceptance for everyone and fight discrimination by taking a small step to normalise and support difference.

There will be face painting on the library deck so come along!

Philosophy

Philosophy Club is updating!

To meet my yard duty commitments, we have shifted our club meeting day to Thursdays, but we are still running meetings at lunchtime, and we are still in meeting in Room 111. Thanks to everyone for being willing to move to new day.

Astrid Keating has stepped up to lend a hand in communications and promotions alongside Zoe Morris. Astrid kicked things off with a set of inspiring posters that have found their way around the school and have helped generate interest in the club. She has also been making posters for all our upcoming meetings, and I am reliably informed stoutly refuses to let AI do a job a human can do so much better. Astrid has also done a great job of designing us a new logo – be sure to look out for it around the school. Thanks for keeping it real Astrid!

What are your thoughts on our new logo? Does it reflect open-mindedness? Does it reflect all the possibilities that are raised by philosophical contemplation?

Also, a shout out to our new members who have been coming along and making our discussion, thoughtful, interesting and fun. Here’s to seeing you all and your friends at the next club meeting.

Ideas for club meetings are always welcome and can be emailed to me:
