ASX Sharemarket Game

This semester, Year 10 Commerce students at Vermont Secondary College participated in the ASX Sharemarket Game. Students were given a virtual $50,000 to invest and were challenged to build a diversified portfolio by purchasing shares in a range of publicly listed companies.

Throughout the competition, students monitored the performance of their investments and experienced the ups and downs of the share market. The game provided a valuable opportunity to apply financial knowledge in a practical setting and develop an understanding of investment strategies.

 Congratulations to the top performers from Miss Gerbing's class: Archie C (who was ranked 43rd of the Victorian participants), Vivaan D, and Omesh Y. In Mrs Jackman's class, the winners were Sheng Z, Ryan W and Doris F. In Mr Agisilaou’s class, the winners were Oscar L, Will Z and Hayley Z.

The ASX Sharemarket Game helped students gain insight into the risks and rewards of investing, while also developing their decision-making, research, and financial literacy skills. Well done to all students who participated.
