In Year 11 French, students have been immersing themselves in our unit on La Révolution française through a range of engaging and interactive activities. 

Recently they played Le Jeu de la Révolution française, a historical board game from 1792, that challenges students to navigate key events and decisions from this turbulent period in French history. This hands-on experience helped deepen their understanding of the causes, major figures, and turning points of the Revolution. 

Students also created traditional tricolour cockades, linking language learning with cultural symbolism of the era. Through these activities, they are developing a stronger grasp of how the Revolution shaped modern France, the wider Francophone world, and continues to influence global ideas about liberty, equality, and citizenship today.
