Year 7 News

It’s been great to see our Year 7’s back for Term 4! We’ve had a great couple of weeks settling back into routines and hearing about stories from our holidays. 

Prepared for Class

As the year is winding down, students are to be reminded that they must be prepared for all classes. Arriving to class with no materials is not acceptable and classroom teachers have been asked to monitor and record any students who are failing to do so. Please ensure that you are getting to your locker to be prepared early and at your classroom by the bell.

Hats

Horsham College is a SunSmart school and as per the school policy, students must wear a Horsham College wide-brim hat. If a yard duty teacher notices any students not wearing a hat or even carrying their hat, they will have their names recorded and follow up will occur. Students not wearing a hat will be asked to go to the closest shaded area. If any students need to purchase a hat, you can purchase one from admin.

PAT Testing

Year 7’s will be participating in PAT testing this week. PAT testing provides data on each student’s learning progress. This information can help you identify strengths and areas for improvement. 

Class Spotlight

In Science 7D have been making Ooblek. They have been asking themselves whether Ooblek is a solid or a liquid. To answer this, they had to apply their understanding of the properties of solids, liquids and gases.
