Black Ranges Intermediate Boys Cricket

On Monday the 6th of October, our intermediate boys cricket team took on several other schools across the region for the Black Range level tournament. In conditions not overly suitable for cricket our boys started talking a big game with our captain Pheonix predicting a big day, not only for himself but the team.

2 overs into the game the predictions were shot to bits, stumps flying and heads dropped, excuses and blame flowing freely. After some early turmoil the team settled on the back of a nice innings from Charlie Hopper taking us to a respectable target. Our bowlers then lead from the front, executing line and length bowling restricting opposition attempts to attack.

A comfortable win followed, leading into a few more wins for the day, allowing our boys to progress to Ballarat on Wednesday the 15th of October to compete in the Greater Western Region Competition, good luck boys!!

State School Netball

On Wednesday the 10th September, the State School Netball Championship Finals took place at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Melbourne, showcasing some of the best young talent from across the state. Our Year 9 team competed with determination and passion, delivering fast-paced matches from start to finish. Our Students demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience, and skill, making the competition exciting to watch.

It was a fantastic day, filled with energy and sportsmanship both on and off the court, creating an electric atmosphere that celebrated the hard work and dedication. The finals not only highlighted the talent of the our students but also the strong sense of community and spirit that makes school sport so special.

Intermediate Boys Cricket

On Wednesday the 15th October our intermediate boys cricket team took off to Ballarat to compete in the GRW cricket carnival, the team competed against teams from Mercy College, Trinity , Emanual and Mt Rowan Colleges.

The first game came down to the wire with Horsham needing just 7 runs off the last over to win, unfortunately some tight bowling from Mercy resulted in a tight loss.

The next game saw us take on Mt Rowan, another fantastic game, this time it was our turn to defend 7 runs in the last over and win by 5!!

The Last game of our day was against a strong Trinity team, who put our bowlers to the sword, whist our batters played very well the target was insurmountable.

Well done to all boys involved, they showed great sportsmanship throughout the day 😊
