Welcome Back
Welcome back to all of our Yr 8 students, we hope you had a nice break and are ready to give your best efforts in finishing off your last term of Yr 8 strongly! Term 4 presents another opportunity for students to strive to achieve their best and to be the best version of themselves. We want our students to do the little things well that will help set them up for success, these include being prepared and on time with all books and resources for each class, whilst also consistently living our college values of Care, Commitment, Collaboration & Character.
Year 8 Camp Information
Our Yr 8 camp is coming up in week 5 of this term. Students who are attending have been given an information sheet that includes - a clothing list with what to bring, along with reminders around arrival time for the bus, medications, phones and spending money. Any student who did not get a form, can get one from the Yr 8 office.
Any students not attending the camp will be required to attend school as normal. There will be a modified timetable/program that our Yr 8’s will complete for the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday back here at School
Assembly Celebrations
At our most recent Assembly we acknowledged some students from the end of term 3 who had excellent attendance and achieved a number of College Values from their teachers.. Congratulations to the Arkie Hopper, Isabelle Iuele and Hylton Penfold who received a $5 canteen voucher for their efforts
HAWK Award
A big congratulations to Amelia Altmann who was awarded our most recent ‘HAWK’ award. Amelia receives this award for achieving high attendance, gaining the mosts college values and consistently applying herself in classes since our last Yr 8 assembly.
Active Travel to School
A reminder to all of our Yr 8 students that the Active Travel to school Tag on system and competition is still in place for the next few weeks. Students are encouraged to log their mode of transport to school and to try and choose the more active ways to get to school, even if that means getting dropped off a few blocks away to increase the amount of walking they do!
Hats
Term 4 sees the start of much warmer weather and more sunshine. Students are reminded they need to have their hats on when they are outside at Recess, Lunchtimes and in outdoor classes like PE. Any students that do not have a hat will be required to sit in the shade. If a student has lost their hat they can chack lost property or purchase a new one from the front office. Thanks for your cooperation in being a Sunsmart school.
