The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.” – Brian Herbert

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri elders and their people who looked after the land
we live on now.
We play, tell stories, rest, connect, learn together and care for each other’s happiness.
As school leaders, we respect our local history and work together to respect each other.
*This acknowledgement of Country was developed and written by our School Leaders, 2026*
During Term Three we have been meeting fortnightly in the BER Gallery to talk about new ideas for our school. In our first school survey we looked at the student use of fidget tools in the classroom. This gave the teachers some insight into what the students are thinking and will be used to inform the future use of fidget tools in the classroom with the support of student voice.

In Term Four we will be taking on the Reverse Advent Calendar collection alongside the Foothills Community Care Group again this year. The SVC voted unanimously to take on this project with so much enthusiasm. We are all very proud of their community minded approach to their new role as leaders in the school.
We also had a chance to share our story at the recent assembly and are planning future speeches to keep everyone informed about our exploits in the SVC.

We are all looking forward to future surveys, exploring new ideas and sharing our voice.
Add the below date to your calendar!
Our Student Voice Council will be helping to promote our upcoming "Halloween Spooktacular" which is a school-wide dress-up day on Friday 30th October. Stay tuned for a Compass notification with details which will be provided in early Term Four.

During each assembly our school Captains / Leaders, read our school oath and students repeat after them. Below is our oath:
I will respect the rights of all members of our school,
And the wider community.
I will honour our School Values,
Be a responsible learner,
And be kind to myself and others.
What does this mean to our students? Why do we say this oath during our assemblies? Do our students follow these statements during there school day. These are some questions we will be asking our students in the coming term.

Congratulations to all our 2026 student leaders. During the year you will see our leaders participate in a range of roles and responsibilities.
They will be supporting students and teachers during special events, undertaking tasks linked specifically to their leadership role.
