Term Three has been another busy and active term in Physical Education and Health, with students across all year levels continuing to develop their skills, teamwork and understanding of healthy lifestyles.

Foundation:

During Term Three, our Foundation students have continued to develop their fundamental movement and teamwork skills through a range of fun and engaging activities. Students focused on dribbling, kicking and working cooperatively as part of a team, developing their coordination, control and confidence with the ball. In Health, students completed a portfolio task exploring emotions and feelings, learning to recognise and communicate how they feel and identifying strategies that can help them manage different emotions. It has been fantastic to see our Foundation students growing in confidence and supporting one another throughout the term.

Year One

Our Year One students have been building their ball-handling and teamwork skills throughout Term Three. Students developed their ability to dribble with control and work effectively as part of a team, with a strong focus on cooperation, communication and encouraging others. In Health, students completed a portfolio task focused on packing a healthy lunch, exploring the importance of making healthy food choices and identifying foods that help keep our bodies healthy and active. Well done to our Year One students for their enthusiasm and positive approach to learning!

Year Two

During Term Three, our Year Two students have continued to develop a range of fundamental movement and ball skills. Students worked on dribbling, chest and bounce passing, and striking through push passing (which progressed to a game of indoor hockey), developing their hand-eye coordination, accuracy and control. They also explored how to work effectively with others during games and activities. In Health, students completed a portfolio task focusing on what makes them unique, celebrating their individual qualities, interests, strengths and characteristics. It was wonderful to see students embracing what makes them different and recognising the positive qualities they bring to our school community.

Year Three/Four

This term, the Year Three/Four students revisited their Term One fitness and skill test results, using their previous results to improve their performance. It was fantastic to see students challenging themselves, celebrating their progress and demonstrating a growth mindset throughout the program.

The students also participated in a three-week volleyball program. The purpose of the program was to create exposure to the sport and develop their volleyball skills through a fun and engaging volleyball program. Students worked on key skills including serving, digging, setting, movement and teamwork, while building their confidence and understanding of the game.

Year Five/Six
