Learning Overview

Mathematics

In Mathematics this term students have been learning the following concepts:

• Fractions, Decimals, Money, Length, Area, Perimeter and Revision of the four operations

English

In English this term students have been learning the following concepts:

• Novel study: The Iron Man by Ted Hughes and Charlotte’s Web by E.B White. Students will learn new vocabulary words and sentence structure. 
• Writing: students will learn the structure and write an information report, a procedural and persuasive piece of writing. 

Inquiry

In Inquiry this term students have been learning about the following:

• Inquiry this term students have been learning about the following:
• Law and Order
• Rules and Laws
• Consequences
• Levels of Government
• Public speaking skills - all students wrote a speech about why they would be a good school councillor. Students then presented thier speeches to thier classes. Well done to all students for showing courage, resilience and for delivery some great speeches.  

Production

Earlier this term was our whole school production The Wizard that Was.The Year 3/4 students had so much fun being "wicked". All students did an amazing job learning their dances and performing them on their night.   

Book Week Dress Up Day

On Wednesday 26th August we had our whole school Book Week celebration. It was wonderful to see so many students dress up as one of their favourite book characters.

From everyone at USPS, we wish Mrs DeLuca all the best as she starts her next exciting role - mum!
