Term 3 Wrap-Up 🌸🚀📚
What a term it has been! Term 3 has absolutely flown by, and somehow we managed to fit so many special weeks, celebrations and exciting experiences into such a short time.
We kicked off with National Science Week, where we became scientists for the week! Each session, the children took part in a different science experiment, making predictions about what they thought would happen before putting their theories to the test. Of course, not every experiment worked the way we expected — but that was part of the fun! We loved seeing the children question, problem-solve, test their ideas and learn that sometimes the best discoveries come from things not going to plan.
Then came Book Week! 📚 We loved seeing everyone's amazing costumes and spending time exploring the wonderful world of books. Stories became a big part of our sessions, with children sharing their favourite characters, discovering new stories and using their imaginations in all sorts of creative ways.
After Harry arrived in his fantastic astronaut costume, he suggested that we have our very own Space Week — and naturally, we couldn't say no! 🚀 The children explored the galaxy through a mixture of STEM experiences, crafts, games and imaginative play. We travelled through space, learned about our universe and let our imaginations go beyond the stars.
We also welcomed the arrival of spring 🌸 with plenty of smiles and outdoor fun. The children enjoyed flying kites and even created their own kite tails and decorations to take home.
We managed to squeeze R U OK? Day into our busy term too, with an incredible Talent Show! 🎤🎨 The children had the opportunity to share their weird, wonderful and wacky talents while celebrating the things that make each of us unique. It was a fantastic reminder that being ourselves is something worth celebrating.
This tied beautifully into our Behind the Curtain / Movie Week, where we explored the magic of performance and storytelling. The children created their own shadow puppet shows, experimented with light and storytelling, and of course, enjoyed watching the school's amazing production.
To finish the week, we transformed our service into our very own cinema, complete with a screening of The Wizard of Oz. It was the perfect way to explore the story behind the magic and finish our movie-themed week.
It has been a wonderfully busy and successful Term 3, filled with curiosity, creativity, imagination, laughter and plenty of learning.
We can't wait to see what adventures Term 4 brings! 💛
🌸 Looking Ahead to Term 4
We will be wrapping up the year with plenty of excitement! Term 4 is always one of our busiest, so while we have lots to look forward to, we will also focus on keeping things calm, relaxed and restful at TheirCare. We’re looking forward to making the most of the warmer weather and getting outside as much as possible.
We already have some exciting special weeks on the horizon, including:
♻️ National Recycling Week – exploring sustainability and creative ways we can reduce, reuse and recycle.
💌 Grandparents Week – celebrating grandparents and older members of our community by creating cards and making a special donation to our local retirement village.

🎄 Christmas – and, of course, finishing the year with plenty of Christmas spirit, celebrations and fun!
We’re looking forward to a wonderful final term and making lots more memories together before we wrap up the year.

STAFFING
Our staffing structure for Semester Two is detailed below:
Permanent teaching staff

2IC - Oriane Cleary 🤩
Rotating casual educators - Karla, Cherrie, Amy
Holiday program coordinators- Lily & Oriane
Staffing arrangements often change due to the needs of the service and growing numbers. There will be some new faces, but we understand consistency is important in building connections and creating a strong sense of wellbeing for our children.
Feedback and suggestions
In order to run an effective and personalised program, we rely on community involvement. The easiest way for us to ensure we are catering to the needs of your children and family is through suggestions and feedback. Please don't hesitate to speak to me directly or leave a note in our feedback box with any concerns or ideas for the service. We love hearing anything that can help us exceed.
Cancelation policy
We have recently experienced an increase in bookings that are not being cancelled when children are absent.
If your child will not be attending, it is very important that you cancel your booking as soon as possible. This can be done easily through the online booking system. Alternatively, you can send us a text message to notify us of your child’s absence.
Please note, if we are not informed of your child’s absence, we are required to follow our missing child procedure. This includes attempting to contact families and, if unsuccessful, may result in further action to ensure the child’s safety.
To avoid a cancellation fee, bookings must be cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the session.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep all children safe and our service running smoothly.
Sun Smart Policy
☀️🤠☀️
As part of our commitment to keeping all the children safe in the sun, we’d like to remind families about our TheirCare SunSmart Policy. With the warmer weather upon us, it’s essential that all children wear a broad-brimmed hat when playing outside.
To make sure every child is protected, we ask that children bring their own hat each day. If you’d prefer, you can leave a spare hat at TheirCare, clearly labeled with your child’s name, so it’s always ready for outdoor play. We do provide sunscreen but if your child has a sensitivity we do recommend bring their own.
Thank you for helping us keep all the children sun-safe! If you have any questions about our SunSmart policy, feel free to reach out.
In order to access the OSHC service, families must register prior to booking. During the registration process, you will be asked to provide details such as emergency contacts, medical requirements, dietary needs, etc.
While booking, please remember that last-minute booking can create a hard time for staffing. Please try to book 24 hours in advance, and if needed, call the service for last-minute bookings to ensure space is available.
Enrolment
If you have a child in Foundation or wish to start attending our fantastic program in 2025, you can register at TheirCare now. Booking is not available as of yet, but I will keep you updated. It is always best to book for OSCH as far in advance as possible, to ensure we have the proper staffing ratio needed for the safety of our service.
