School Council
School Council met on Monday evening and were excited to be joined by the VSBA and newly announced architect team from McIldowie Partners. They were able to provide a brief overview of what to expect over the coming weeks and how School Council, along with staff, students and ENPS families, will be involved. We have great momentum with the capital works project and you can find more detail on the following page. There will be opportunities for the school community to engage with this project, so please keep an eye out for further updates.
At our meeting on Monday we also reviewed and endorsed the 2027 Parent Payment Arrangements (moving forward to be referred to as Parent Contribution Arrangements).
The School Council of Essendon North Primary School determines the parent contributions each year in line with the Victorian DET guidelines. Parent contributions are requested to enhance the educational opportunities for our students, and further enrich the learning and teaching programs. Parent contributions in all forms are highly valued by our school community as they ensure our students can access a broad range of learning opportunities.
At ENPS the financial support of our families ensures that our school can offer the best possible education and wellbeing support for our students. Your contributions make it possible to offer:
All stationery required by your child throughout the school year.
Technology and digital learning tools available in classrooms.
High-quality resources for English and Mathematics, including concrete materials, texts and tools that enhance our pedagogical approach and support student learning.
Learning opportunities in specialist curriculum areas, including art supplies, sporting equipment and musical instruments.
A well resourced library with regularly updated texts to support learning and teaching.
Access to a qualified school nurse and first-aid resources to support the health and wellbeing of your child.
Well maintained buildings and grounds.
As a School Council we ensure extensive research, investigation and comparison to other local and like schools is considered in determining our arrangements. The ongoing support of our families through contributions ensures that our school can offer the best possible education for our students, supporting our school to provide the programs, resources, and materials to foster learning outcomes.
Information regarding the 2027 Parent Contribution Arrangements will be distributed at the beginning of Term Four. As a School Council we acknowledge that the end of the year is busy and costly, and hope that providing this in advance also supports our families.
School Council also takes the opportunity to say thank you to everyone who came and celebrated our VIP Father’s Day Afternoon on Friday 4th September. The event was really well attended! A big thanks to staff who organised some very creative activities for us to enjoy. Family units in our school community are very diverse, not to mention busy! Our kids don’t always have a Mum or a Dad who can come and celebrate with them. It’s important for our kids’ wellbeing to make these events as inclusive as possible, so it was wonderful to see many varieties of VIPs coming into school for the afternoon.
