Join Us in planning for Northcote High School's centenary celebration

Dear Northcote High School Community,

We are starting to look ahead to 2026 when we will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the enrolment of the first students at Northcote High School.  Since opening its doors in 1926, our school has been a cornerstone of education and community. This milestone offers us a unique opportunity to reflect on our achievements, honour our rich history, and look forward to a bright future.

In preparing for this milestone occasion, we are calling on our interested community members to join the Centenary Planning Committee. We need enthusiastic volunteers to help plan a series of memorable events and activities throughout the year. We are also seeking anyone that has an interest in documenting the rich history of our school, ensuring that the stories and accomplishments of the past century are preserved for future generations.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Event Planning: Assist in organising celebrations, reunions, and ceremonies that reflect the spirit and legacy of Northcote High School.

Historical Documentation: Help gather photos, documents, and stories from alumni, staff, and community members to create a comprehensive history of our school.

Communications and Publicity: Promote the centenary activities through various media channels and keep the community informed about upcoming events.

How to Get Involved:

If you are passionate about Northcote High School and want to contribute to this historic celebration, please consider joining the Centenary Planning Committee. Your involvement will make a significant difference in creating a fitting tribute to our school's 100 years of commitment to public education.

To volunteer or learn more about the committee, please email the school at info@nhs.vic.edu.au.  We will be holding an initial meeting in Term 3 in the new school library to discuss ideas and assign roles.

Let's come together to celebrating the legacy of Northcote High School and make our centenary a year to remember!
