Digital Photography and the Storyteller

Artwork by Stella M

Creating collaged images inspired by the work of David Hockney

For our final Digital Photography CAT, we created 'joiners' in the style of David Hockney. A joiner is a collaged image created from many images that shows more than a single image can, such as time passing, particular details and multiple perspectives. We were encouraged to create our own interpretations of Hockney's style. Throughout the last few months, we have practiced different Photoshop techniques and skills, including working with different tools and layers. We also learnt how to properly use the DSLR cameras to create the images we want. In the end, we took around 75 photos of the scene we wanted to capture and collaged them together in Photoshop to create our final artworks.
