Year 7 2027 Tours and
Information Sessions

Sally Goss
Assistant Principal
Transition Coordinator
During Term 1 and Term 2, with the Year 7 enrolment deadline fast approaching, local families were keen to familiarise themselves with BSC programs and facilities.
The school hosted a series of highly popular school tours for prospective families and students throughout Term 1 and early Term 2. These tours provide a valuable opportunity for visitors to meet staff and observe the school in action, offering an authentic experience and a real sense of the learning environment and community that BSC offers.
Members of the Student Representative Council hosted the tours alongside the Principal Team, welcoming visitors, offering student insight into student life a BSC and answering many enquiries for parents, carers and prospective students. The SRC team was a wonderful support; the students articulate, reliable, enthusiastic and a joy to have on board!
In addition to the School Tours, interested parents, carers and their children were invited to attend a Year 7 Information Session where they could gain a deeper understanding of what their child’s transition to secondary school would look like at BSC.
During these sessions we provided more detailed information on
These sessions were designed to provide clarity, answer frequently asked questions, and help parents and carers feel more confident as they move to the next stage of their child’s education journey. Two sessions were run, both well attended and the feedback about the information content and transparency of processes has been extremely positive.
Leading Teachers Anne Siciliano and Grace McCulloch also supported these events, providing insight into the schools policies and processes around Disability and Inclusion Support, and the many strategies employed to ensure that all students can embrace a true sense of belonging at BSC.
Many members of our community volunteered their time to contribute to the success of the Information Sessions. We sincerely thank the talented Eric Lee (Year 11) who played piano to welcome all in attendance, Lucinda Lourey (Year 8) who spoke about her school experience, Michelle Price (parent) who shared her parent perspective, Anne Siciliano, Grace McCulloch, and our School Captains Emily Lynch (Year 12) and Oscar Hagarty (Year 12) who also lent a hand.
