Reading

Our students have been working in Novel Study groups to develop their inferring skills. Through rich discussions and shared reading, students are learning to “read between the lines” by using clues from the text along with their own knowledge to deepen their understanding of characters, events, and themes. This has helped them become more thoughtful and engaged readers.

Writing

In Writing, our Year 5 students have been creating slides for their upcoming 3-Way Learning Conferences, focusing on clearly presenting their learning and reflecting on their progress through the lens of our school values. They have also begun researching their chosen Key Figures in Australian History, developing skills in locating reliable information, taking notes, and organising their ideas into clear and informative pieces.

Maths

In Mathematics, our Year 5 students have been exploring angles and developing their understanding of measurement. They have been learning to measure and compare length, as well as calculate perimeter and area. Through hands-on & online activities and problem-solving tasks, students are building confidence in applying these skills to real-world situations.
