Level 4

What a term it has been! Time has certainly flown by! And this week we will be able to showcase the learning we have been experiencing during this time through our Three Way Conferences.
Each class has had the opportunity to establish the routines and expectations for year four and our classes are very settled. Students are looking forward to sharing their work and their learning goals for next term.
Maths
Recently in Maths we have been learning about multiplication and division, and students have made the connection between multiplication and area of rectangles.
Inquiry
Our Inquiry project has focused on celebrations around the world. It has been linked with reading and writing of information reports so that students have learned to use printed and digital media to gain information and how to synthesise new information to create a new product – an information report.
Digital Tech
Digital technology has had an increased focus with students presenting a series of slides to showcase their learning. We have been learning to use Google Classroom for some of our learning tasks.
Harmony Day
On Monday the whole school participated in Harmony Day Celebrations. Children were placed in multi-age groups and participated in a variety of activities designed to inform students about other cultures and promote a sense of belonging and welcome all people regardless of their cultural background. The school was ablaze with colour and festivity as students wore national clothing from their culture or wore orange, representing harmony. It was a very successful and enjoyable day for all.
Coming Up
Finally, we are all looking forward to our excursion which will complete our unit on Celebrations and Immigration. We will be visiting the Immigration Museum which will teach us about the personal stories of people who have chosen Australia as their new home. In addition, we will be going to the ACMI museum and Federation Square. What a wonderful way to celebrate a successful term of learning in Year Four!
