WCC DIWALI 2025
WCC celebrated its second consecutive Diwali celebration on 20th of October. It was full of enthusiasm and excitement.
Diwali is the festival of lights and is celebrated all around the globe especially India by different communities. It is the biggest Indian festival.
Throughout the school, our community celebrated by presenting beautiful colourful displays around the foyer and main staff room. The WCC Hindi team created beautiful rangoli (Indian traditional folk art form) at the front of the school and community hub. Rangoli represents the happiness, positivity and liveliness of the place it’s created and also looks beautiful.
Different activities were run at the college during break times. We had workshops set up for the whole school community, There were stalls of henna , bracelet making, saree draping (traditional Indian women attire), diya (earthen lamp) painting. Both our students and staff enjoyed these various activities especially the all-time popular henna art.
The school community enjoyed taking photos at the photo booth.
Students and staff performed on Indian Bollywood dances enjoyed by the whole school community. School staff also relished some traditional Indian sweets and savoury.
It was a culturally rich filled day where the whole school community came together to celebrate Diwali with great pomp and show.

On Monday the 20th of October, Wyndham Central College celebrated Diwali. Although the weather wasn’t the best, everyone coming together made it really enjoyable. Teachers and students participated in various fun Diwali activities, including diya painting, saree draping, and getting henna on their hands. During Break 2, some students (including me) danced for Diwali, and many students gathered on the basketball courts to watch. We even had some teachers dance with us.
It was a fun and joyous day!
