Year 7

Firstly, I would like to congratulate our graduating class of 2025. It was great to be able to attend their valedictory celebration to congratulate them on their achievement. They have all come so far since they started at Wyndham Central College in the challenging year that was 2020. It was great to see their smiling faces as they were presented with their certificates and hear what they hoped for in the next stage of their lives.
This term will continue to be busy for our year 7’s, with exams and Step Up into year 8 before the end of the year.
We will also shortly be introducing our new year 7’s for 2026 to the college with some additional transition days, the Statewide transition day, information evening and school tours. It will be exciting to see our next cohort of students join the college.
It has been great to continue to see positive celebrations at assembly each Monday morning and having the tutor groups running them. Their positivity and collaboration is to be commended. There are so many students displaying the College values of Respect, Co-operation and Excellence, having 100% attendance and working to reach their full potential to become their best self.
A reminder about the importance of students wearing the full school uniform. With the weather being unpredictable at the moment, students are expected to still be wearing the College uniform. For students who need assistance with the correct uniform, please ask your child to speak to their tutor teacher or Middle Years office.
I look forward to continuing to work with your children this year to enhance their educational opportunities and help them become the best they can be.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 7
It’s been a fantastic and busy term for our Year 7 students as they continue to grow in confidence and independence! This term, students have been consolidating their learning across all subjects and preparing for their exams. In Wyntime and Pastoral Care, they’ve been developing their healthy minds and just beginning to work on their Career Action Planning.
Outside the classroom, Year 7's have continued to show great teamwork, kindness, and enthusiasm – whether in their interaction in the yard, interschool sporting events, or through their everyday interactions with peers and teachers. As they approach the end of their first year of high school, it’s wonderful to see how much they’ve grown, both academically and personally.
As our Year 7 students prepare for their exams, it’s natural for them to feel a little nervous. Parents and guardians can help by keeping routines calm and consistent, encouraging regular study breaks and focusing on effort rather than results. A quiet space for study, healthy sleep habits and reassurance that mistakes are part of learning all make a big difference. Remind your child that exams are an opportunity to show what they’ve learned and to practise important skills for the future – not something to stress about.
We’re so proud of the positive attitude and effort shown by all our Year 7's and we look forward to finishing the year on a high note!
