Year 9 Morrisby Testing & Mock Interviews

Wednesday 13 May

The Mock Interviews and Morssiby Testing brings together two valuable learning opportunities for our Year 9 students, that focus on future pathways, self-discovery and real-world skills.

My Career Insights – Morrisby Profiling

Participation in the My Career Insights program, a Department of Education initiative designed to support students to discover, develop and drive their career planning.

Students will attend a short information session in the Senior Centre (scheduled adjacent to their Mock Interview) before completing their Morrisby profiling. This series of short assessments and questionnaires explores students’ strengths, interests, talents, motivations, personality traits and work preferences.

Following completion, students will receive:

  • A detailed personalised Morrisby report

  • Lifetime access to the online Morrisby careers portal

  • A 30-minute one-on-one interview later in Term 2 with a qualified careers practitioner to unpack their results and discuss possible pathways

Parent consent through the compass Event is required by Monday 11 May.  Parents will notice there are three consent options available:

  1. Opt-in (default): Full Morrisby profile and interview with a careers practitioner

  2. No response: Access to Morrisby Careers (aspirations and personality only), with an interview still included

  3. Opt-out: Student does not participate (Compass event must be declined)

Students will complete the profiling at home throughout the day after their Mock Interview. For families who prefer their child to complete the profiling at school during Periods 1 & 2, a separate opt-in event is available on Compass.

Year 9 Mock Interviews

Also taking place on the same day are the Mock Interviews. Throughout this term, students have been preparing by creating a resume and cover letter and developing interview skills applying for an Advertisements.

Each student will attend a mock interview with their Explore teacher and an industry professional, gaining valuable feedback to support future job and pathway applications.

Interview bookings will be made via Compass (Conference function) in their explore class, students who do not book will be allocated a time.

With career exploration, personalised profiling and real-world interview practice all happening in one day, it will be a powerful learning experience that helps our students build confidence and take meaningful steps towards their future.
