On Monday 30 March, we travelled to Aquanation Ringwood for the Eastern Metropolitan Region Swimming Championships with a group of 34 students, our biggest team in years!
We participated in 19 individual events and 13 relays, up from 9 individual and 4 relays last year, a significant improvement.
At the time of writing there are no Team Scores results that have been provided. However, I do believe off my calculations we scored more points than last year.
Special shout out to Year 9 student Abbie Garbellini, who won 3 events and broke 3 Region records in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, and 50m Butterfly MC events. Abbie swam 35.35s for 50m Freestyle, 40.73s for 50m Backstroke, and 40.24s for 50m Butterfly. Abbie will compete at the SSV State Swimming Championships in April.
Another special shoutout to the 18-20 Girls Relay team who finished 3rd, this was mostly a team of girls aged 13 and 14!
