School Safety

On Tuesday the 28th of April, we will be holding a lockdown practice. This is a regular part of our safety procedures. Children will practice the lockdown by staying in their classrooms and working quietly.

We anticipate that the drill should only last for a short amount of time. Please have a conversation with your child prior to Tuesday if you think they may be nervous about the drill.

Just a reminder to families about our security gate. If you are coming through the security gate during school hours, please ensure that you only let yourselves through the gate. Please do not let others through as you enter or exit. This is only applicable between 9am - 3pm.

Allergy Awareness

A reminder for all families that St Peter’s is an allergy-aware school. We have many students in our community, in all year levels, who live with food allergies. While current guidelines from the Royal Children’s Hospital advise that blanket food bans are not recommended, we are committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students. With this in mind, we kindly ask that you remain mindful when preparing food for yourchild to bring to school. Please consider avoiding foods that could trigger severe allergicreactions, such as nuts (peanuts and tree nuts) or eggs and in some cases dairy products.

If you are unsure of the allergies to be mindful of in your year level, please speak with your child's class teacher.

Please speak with your child about the importance of not sharing food or snacks with others and that taking food that contains allergens onto the playgrounds can have serious repercussions for other students.By working together, we can help reduce the risk of accidental exposure and ensure allstudents feel safe and included.Thank you for your understanding and continued support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school and ask to speak to theschool nurses, from Monday-Friday 10.30am-3pm.
