Take Away in Year Two

Year Two has been learning how to solve subtraction problems using number lines in Mathematics. At home, you can support this by encouraging your child to practise simple subtraction problems (e.g. 37 - 5) using a drawn number line, a ruler or even by counting backwards together in everyday situations. 

We continue to build our literacy skills at targeted levels through our phonics groups each morning. Reading regularly at home is very beneficial. Hearing your child read and talking about the sounds and words they have read will help strengthen these skills. 

In Inquiry, we are exploring the different places in our community such as shops, gyms and parks and learning about how people use these places in their everyday lives.
