Library

Welcome to another exciting year in the school library! It’s already been a busy start, with teachers and students stocking their classrooms and students enthusiastically borrowing books to enjoy at home.
The library is located inside the gymnasium and is supported by one full-time staff member. For students seeking a quieter place during lunchtime, the library is open for the second half of lunch.
Our collection includes more than 7,000 high-quality junior fiction, picture books, and non-fiction titles. Our non-fiction collection supports the curriculum and our units of inquiry. We are proud to offer an inclusive range of resources, including bilingual picture books, dyslexia-friendly titles, and books suited to all reading levels.
All students are required to bring a library bag to their weekly library session. Library bags help protect books from spills and damage and keep library books separate from your books at home. Library bags featuring the school logo are available for purchase from our uniform supplier, PWS.
Books are borrowed for a two-week period and should be returned on time so others can enjoy them. Overdue reminders are sent home via Compass.
Throughout the year, the library hosts a variety of events and participates in reading initiatives such as the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge and ALIA National Simultaneous Storytime. Later in the year, we will celebrate National Book Week with a whole-school themed dress-up day, and the library will also host a Scholastic Book Fair. Information about all our events will be sent via Compass.
