Year Five
Our Inquiry Unit
This term the Year Fives have begun learning about their inquiry unit “Connection to place”. This is a Geography unit that focuses on:
The geographical location of climate hazards.
The relationship between place, climate and climate hazards.
How communities prepare, respond to and recover from climate hazards.
How places and environments are changed and managed.
The students began the unit by doing some hands on research about what the best materials are to build houses on in flood prone areas.
