Mary Had a Little Roo

Hello, my name is Teagan. Many of you will know me as the science laboratory technician here at MECS. Outside of the lab, I also love writing stories, and I’m excited to share that my first picture book, Mary Had a Little Roo, has just been published by Starfish Bay Publishing.

It’s written for children aged 3–8 years and is an Australian twist on the classic nursery rhyme Mary Had a Little Lamb. Instead of Mary’s lamb, this story follows an orphaned kangaroo that Mary adopts, but what happens when the kangaroo gets too big for the house?

I wrote this book because I’ve always loved the way stories can fuel our imagination and interests. And what better way to learn to care for the beautiful world God created than by loving it and caring for its creatures?
