Book Week:

Where Characters

Come to Life

Primary School Celebrates Book Week

This year’s Book Week theme, 'Book an Adventure', invited our Primary School students to journey through stories that spark imagination, curiosity, and a love of learning. The week was filled with joyful activities that brought our school community together in celebration of literature.

Throughout the week, the library played a central role in our celebrations, offering themed Book Week lessons that engaged students with stories in meaningful and creative ways. We were also blessed to have Michelle, Malcolm, and Danny visit classrooms to read aloud to students. Their storytelling brought warmth and connection to each class, reinforcing the joy and value of shared reading experiences.

On Thursday 21 August, each class held a Book Week parade, giving students the opportunity to showcase their costumes and celebrate their favourite literary characters. Our Tribal Leaders had the special task of selecting the Best Dressed Costume from each classroom, with certificates awarded during our afternoon GTs. The excitement and pride on the students’ faces made these moments truly memorable.

A sincere thank you to our wonderful parents and caregivers for the time and creativity you invested in helping your children prepare their costumes. The effort was evident in every detail, and the variety of characters represented was truly impressive. Each student looked fantastic, and we wish we could have recognised every costume with a certificate!

Book Week has reminded us of the power of stories to inspire, teach, and bring us closer together. We are grateful to our families, staff, and students for making this week such a success, and we look forward to many more adventures in reading in the year ahead.
