Middle Years

Middle Years
This term students in years 7-9 have participated in a range programs and activities. Year 7s attended the Lake Dewar camp and had a great time building relationships with their peers. They paddled kayaks and paddle boards, rode bikes, flew on ziplines and more.
The BHS 70th anniversary celebrations involved a series of lessons themed around 1956. In science students conducted a range of classic experiments, while in physical education the 1950s world cup was revived with a soccer round robin for year 9s.
Humanities lessons were themed around school and life in 1956. Term 2 has also provided opportunities for students to extend themselves by attending workshops at the Centre for Higher Education Studies. Students in year 9 and 10 volunteered to participate in programs for specialist mathematics, extended investigation, English language and algorithmics. Some of these students are looking forward to enrolling in enrichment electives and higher education studies with CHES in the future.
