Year 7 Camp

Year 7 Camp - Dunlop and Melba

This Year 7 camp was held at Lake Dewar. There were many activities such as geo-orienteering, bike riding, zipline, stand-up paddle-boarding, kayaking and more. Our personal favourites were stand-up paddle-boarding, ziplining and kayaking because the jetty jump at the end was really fun. The trivia night was our favourite evening activity as we liked dancing and singing to the music.

This year for our Year 7 camp we travelled to Lake Dewar. Upon arrival, everyone was ecstatic whilst we eagerly waited to find out our cabins. Soon after we, we got straight into the activities. Some of our favourites included Adventure tunnelling where we used teamwork to solve clues to escape. We also enjoyed the Initiatives Course, the Dual flying fox and both water activities; stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking. We got the opportunity to do the dare devil Jetty Jump into the freezing cold water (it was so COLD!). After each activity, we got to have some delicious meals. Sadly, all fun adventures have to come to an end. We loved our camp and hope the 2027 Year 7’s love it as much as we did.

Year 7 Camp – Hollows and Freeman

Year 7 students from Hollows and Freeman recently enjoyed an unforgettable camp at Lake Dewar.

Across three action-packed days, students participated in a range of exciting activities including stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, mountain biking, geo orienteering, tunnelling, flying fox, jetty jumping and team-building initiatives. Evenings were filled with trivia, music, games and a night walk where students enjoyed stunning views of the city before warming up with hot chocolate and biscuits.

Students also enjoyed plenty of delicious meals and celebrated the end of camp with group awards recognising teamwork and positive use of the school values.

The camp provided students with the opportunity to challenge themselves, build resilience and strengthen friendships within their year level. It was a fantastic experience that created many lasting memories for everyone involved.
