Athletics Carnvial 2026

Whole School Event

This term we will hold our 2026 House Athletics Carnival, which will take place on Tuesday 4th of August, at the Knox Athletics Track.

Wantirna’s House Carnivals are popular whole school events and we're certain this will be another memorable day. Please read the following important information:

Consent: This is a compulsory whole school event. Consent must be gained via the compass event by 11:59pm Sun 26 July. The event is called “House Athletics Carnival Consent Form 2026”. Thanks to the many students that have already consented - over 700 so far! If you are yet to consent, please make sure this is completed by the due date. There is no cost involved.

Location: Students will meet at Wantirna College in their allocated room at 8:45am. This can be found on Compass along with the teacher in charge of marking the roll. The carnival will be held at the Knox Athletics Track, Bunjil Way, Knoxfield.

Uniform: Dress up in your House colours, but a reminder to be in suitable clothing to participate in athletics events.

Rees = Red

Byrne = Blue

Collier = Yellow,

Mason = Green

Traditionally, our Year 12 students dress in costume to celebrate their last Athletics Carnival. We can't wait to see their fun ideas!

Medical Equipment: Students will be required to bring their own medical equipment (e.g. EpiPens) on the day. Please speak to the Health Centre if you have any medical concerns.

Dismissal Process: Any student who wishes to leave from the venue MUST have parent permission on Compass by 11:59pm Mon 3 August and MUST be picked up by their OWN parent/guardian on the day.

If this is not done prior, your child will not be allowed to leave the venue. All other students will be bussed back to the college before being dismissed upon arrival at school.

Program: Events include 100-1500m running races, long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin, discuss, etc, in addition to many exciting novelty events that we encourage all students to take part in. Remember: Participation = Points for your House!

Raffle: Each time a student participates in an event they will not only earn House points, they will also receive an entry into the raffle to win a $10 canteen voucher. You have to be in it to win it!

House Points: Are earned for wearing House Colours, participating in events and if you participate in a race event, the higher you place, the more points you earn for your House! Which House will win in 2026?

House Cup: At the end of the year the House with the most points will win the House Cup and the right to choose their locker bay for 2027.
