Matilda The Musical

With only weeks to go until opening night, students and staff have been very busy with acting, dance, stage and voice rehearsals as well as costuming & set design, sound & lighting and even planning makeup and hair! 

Our 2026 Production includes over 80 students and tech crew, plus over 30 staff and volunteers over 8 amazing nights. Don't miss it!

VSMF

The Victorian Schools Music Festival (VSMF), held at the Hawthorn Arts Centre, is an opportunity for students to experience performing at a leading Melbourne venue and watch performances from other schools. This year the Symphonic Band will perform on Mon 24 August and the Concert Band on Wed 26 August.  

Following their performances, each ensemble receive tutoring from the adjudicator on performance techniques as a band, gaining valuable experience working with a guest conductor.

Consent is required for these events with all details now available on Compass. 

Parents are welcome to come to Hawthorn Town Hall and watch the performance, alternatively there is a live feed link accessed by typing 'Victorian Schools Music Festival Live Feed' into your browser (https://vsmf.com.au/).

Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser

The Parents of Performing Arts committee are running a Bunnings BBQ on Sat 1 Aug at Bunnings Vermont. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help! Rosters will be finalised and distributed next week.

A POPA member will be present in each time slot and back-up helpers would be appreciated in case someone gets sick and can't attend on the day. 

Please note that students over 16yrs old are able to attend in serving positions (not permitted to cook).

If you'd like to volunteer your time, please email me with the name and phone number of helpers.
