Group 5

Exploring what we like

This term has been full of exciting learning and growth in Group 5! We have been focusing on helping students communicate their preferences and interests through a variety of engaging and meaningful activities. 

A big part of learning has been exploring “I like” topics. Students have been learning to express what they enjoy, including colours, favourite activities and places they like to go. They used communication boards throughout the lessons to express the things they liked. Many students expressed interests in swimming, singing and colouring. 

We made an environmental print book that became a class favourite. We used images of different shows, characters, and shops. Students loved recognising the familiar logos and images from their everyday lives. It became very clear that the students shared favourites in Peppa Pig, Kmart, Hungary Jacks and more. 

It's been a great Term 1 for Group 5. All students have shown great enthusiasm for school and learning. It has been lovely to see their communication skills develop in such meaningful ways. We are looking forward to continuing the journey in term 2!
