Class 2/3 S  

During the last couple of weeks we have been doing a deep dive into Multiplication and Division. We have been using many hands-on materials and doing plenty of open ended exploration tasks which are helping the kids understand the relationship between the two. More recently we have also been exploring solving multiplication and division worded problems and we have been practicing using the bar model as a method to help us understand what the question is asking and visualising the question, and as a result the answer. To sum up some of their experiences one kid said to me last week: ‘how can you make maths so fun!’
