A message from our
Wellbeing Student Ambassadors…
Hello TPS community,
This year we will be celebrating Wear it Purple Day on Thursday 3rd of September. Like last year we will be holding another Bake Sale!
Wear it Purple Day is a global event celebrating LGBTQIA+ young people.
This year’s Wear it Purple Day theme is Colours of Courage.
“ Courage is not just expressed in big moments, but in everyday choices to live proudly and invite others into understanding, acceptance and celebration.”
On Thursday 3rd of September, there are many ways the TPS community can help us celebrate…
- Please bring cakes and or cookies for our fundraiser if you can (the more purple and rainbows the better!!)
- Wear purple clothes
- And don't forget your gold coin donation
We are raising money for Minus 18, Australia's largest youth-led charity supporting LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults aged 13 to 19. Last year’s TPS Wear it Purple Day Bake Sale was a huge success and we want this event to be even better!
All cakes and cookies are to be delivered to the front office on the morning of Thursday 3rd of September.
We are grateful for your support and donations.
Warmly,
Persephone, Xavier and Charlotte and the Rainbow Club
Acts of Kindness
Kindness helps make our school a happy, safe, and welcoming place for everyone.
Over the past fortnight, teachers have noticed some wonderful examples of kindness happening during recess and lunch, including:
- Seeking help when another student was experiencing big feelings.
- Seeking help when someone was injured.
- Helping to keep the library and shared space tidy during recess and lunch.
- Helping a younger student to find their lost property.
We would like to thank Alex, Mercy, Amy, Felix, Sienna, Florina, Josie, Penny C and Cedar for making a positive difference in our school community in weeks 4 and 5 of this term.
We encourage families to join us by talking about kindness at home. “What does it mean to be kind?” and “What does kindness look like?” are great conversation starters that help to reinforce the purpose of the initiative.
