Attendance
Strathmore Secondary College is required to record attendance for every student and every class, including the reason for each absence.
Parents and guardians must update Compass Attendance in advance if a student will be absent or leaving the school early for appointments.
Students cannot leave the school without parent or guardian approval and must not leave the school grounds without signing out at the General Office, before they leave.
Students arriving late to school or returning from appointments, must also sign in at the General Office, before going to class and an explanatory note on Compass is required.
If parents and guardians are unable to update Compass, they can call the Junior School Attendance Officer for assistance.

Course Selections 2027
Planning for the Future
Over recent weeks, all students have been actively involved in our course preference selection process, considering their interests, strengths and future aspirations. Students in Years 9 to 11 have participated in individual interviews with coordinators and members of the school leadership team, providing an opportunity to discuss subject choices, future pathways and goals beyond high school. Students in Years 7 and 8 have had information presented to their classes and opportunities to discuss their subject choices and options for future study.
What’s Next?
We will now work towards developing a timetable that accommodates student preferences as much as possible, while balancing the needs of the broader school community. Families will receive confirmation of their child’s course selections during Term 4. We thank our students, staff and families for their engagement and support throughout this important process.
