ICOM Book Fair: A celebration of Reading and Learning

The highlight of Term Four's library calendar was our annual Book Fair, which transformed the library into a vibrant celebration of reading and learning. Students were thrilled to see the space beautifully decorated in shades of purple and orange, with IBC's signature green display adding a special touch.

Our Lamont area stocked an extensive collection of popular fiction titles including chapter books, novels, activity books, and non-fiction titles. During scheduled class visits, every student had the opportunity to browse and pick something new and exciting to buy. The excitement levels were at full capacity as students tried to decide on the best purchase, while also giving the library team a long list of suggestions for the school library.

Throughout the week, many secondary students visited during recess and lunchtime to explore the wide range of books and stationery. Our main vendor, IBC, offered an inspiring collection of Islamic books, including Hadith, Stories of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Sunnah of the Prophet, as well as unique Islamic stationery such as notepads, Quran jars, and bookmarks.

The Book Fair was opened to parents on Friday evening to peruse the collections and meet our visiting author, Jane Godwin. It was heart-warming to see so many parents attend, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. There was lots of excitement and joy as students shared their love of books with their parents and got another chance to select their favourite titles.

Overall, the fair was a big success, truly celebrating reading, reflection, and our shared love of learning and faith. We look forward to hosting another Book Fair next year.
