Y11: VET ICT Certificate III Achievement

Our Year 11 VET ICT students have proudly completed their Certificate III in Information Technology (ICT30120), a qualification that serves as both a VCE subject and an industry-recognised certificate offered in TAFE and university programs. This dual credential bridges school-based learning with real-world technical training, equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to pursue further studies or careers in the ICT field.

Throughout the two-year program, students have engaged in a wide range of practical, industry-aligned units. They developed foundational skills in teamwork (BSBXTW301), learned to install and configure computer operating systems and hardware (ICTICT213), and gained proficiency in application software (ICTICT214) such as word processing and spreadsheets.

They also built capability in troubleshooting and diagnostics (ICTSAS308), information security (BSBXCS303), and critical and creative thinking (BSBCRT301) to solve ICT-related challenges. In the most recent stage, students explored network setup and security (ICTSAS310), client support and system maintenance (ICTSAS305, ICTSAS309), basic system administration (ICTSAS312), and introductory programming (ICTPRG302).

Their learning was showcased through a range of authentic assessments, including video productions, group projects, topic tests, presentations, industry research, and a professional portfolio. These experiences allowed them to apply their learning through hands-on projects such as configuring SOHO networks, troubleshooting faults, and designing simple applications. Their commitment, teamwork, and enthusiasm have been truly inspiring.

Congratulations to our VET ICT students on achieving this significant milestone — a testament to their dedication and the growing importance of ICT skills in today’s digital world.
