VCE Drama Performance
Last Wednesday, our Unit 3 Drama students presented an entertaining self-devised ensemble piece to an audience of family and friends. The students have been working throughout the semester to develop a performance piece that explores the importance of imagination, considering the past, present, and future.
Taking inspiration from the recent political election, they welcomed audience members to a vital election between the Imagination and Convenience parties. They challenged the audience to think about the everyday choices they make, and the impact each of the parties might have on the future of key issues such as education, healthcare and communication.
We were delighted to see the students create an engaging performance and congratulate them on this remarkable achievement.
OCC Alumni & Staff Orchestra | Movie Night
On Thursday 29 May, the OCC Alumni and Staff Orchestra presented an evening of film music. Guests were entertained by the music of Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman, Alan Silvestri, Lauren Daigle, and Jason Ingram, complete with audience participation and an incredible vocal solo by Mrs Natalie Bailey of "Then I Will", inspired by the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
We are certainly looking forward to their major concert later in the year!
Music Camp
Over 140 student musicians attended the Senior Music Camp for 2025. Senior Choir, Senior Concert Band and Sinfonia spent many dedicated rehearsals learning and refining their performance skills as an ensemble. Our auditioned strings, woodwind, brass and vocal ensembles also had the opportunity to practice and improve through intensive rehearsal sessions, guided by their ensemble directors.
Tabloid sports continue to be an important tradition of Music Camp: an excellent time of cross year level bonding and team building. Hosted by former students from the Class of 2024, Atlanta S, Daniella H, Keishi S, Simon W and Vanda A, students from across the year levels were able to join together in the spirit of healthy competition. In addition, the grumpy judge also made an appearance! The former students also shared in a time of devotion, and our Captains Alannah M and Eshan C, along with Lucy D and Tasman F, led the campers in a wonderful time of worship.
The results of the hard work put in by students and ensemble directors will be on show at the Senior Ensemble Evening on Thursday 19 June, to be held at Life Ministry Church, commencing at 7.00pm.
