Soaring Adventures in the Resource Centre!

Hold on tight—the Resource Centre is bursting with excitement this term, and we’re soaring higher than ever on a hot air balloon of stories and fun!

Junior School

In Junior School, we joined an epic nationwide event with over 2.5 million children for National Simultaneous Story Time! Together, we read The Truck Cat by amazing Victorian author Deborah Fenkel, with stunning illustrations by Danny Snell. This heartwarming tale of Tinka, the adventurous cat who lives in a truck with Yacoub, had everyone hooked! When they get separated and meet again in a bakery, they discover that “Home is everywhere.” Our students cuddled their favourite plush friends in the BPAC as the story came to life—pure magic!

Senior School

Over in Senior School, the adventure continues with our Genre of the Month display. We’ve journeyed through thrilling mysteries, inspiring biographies, and classic tales—but right now, fantasy reigns supreme! Students are diving into incredible worlds crafted by legends like C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Garth Nix. Dragons, magic, and epic quests await!

Blind Date with a Book

And here’s the twist: we’ve launched the mysterious “Blind Date with a Book” event! Wrapped in brown paper with only a cryptic clue, these surprise books challenge students to take a leap into the unknown. Will they discover a new favourite or be swept away by a fresh adventure? The excitement is real!

The Resource Centre is buzzing, bursting, and alive with imagination—it’s the ultimate destination for every young explorer. Come join the fun and let your story take flight!

I think the Mystery Books are really cool because it can expand your reading 'comfort zone'. As you don't know what it is, you might be surprised on what you find out what you really like!
